Ammonite in antiqued copper

$85.00
sold out

Ammonite fossil wrapped in antiqued copper. 6cm from bail top to bottom.

I experimented a lot with this piece. An odd shape cabochon, a new weaving pattern, more complex spirals, and antiquing using sulfur.

The first thing that stands out is the spiral. The spiral symbolizes evolution and continual change. Ammonite promotes stability and vitality. I antiqued the copper using a hard boiled egg. Sulfur causes the chemical reaction. The result brings out the warm browns in the fossil. I also filled the negative space on the right with spirals, complimenting the natural pattern in the Ammonite.

Accompanied by a black waxed cord and polishing cloth.
