Crazy Lace Agate in Copper

$60.00

This one is a funky little one. It's a crazy lace agate accented with a hand carved bone bead, Carnelian, and Mookite.

It's a little space ship.

Crazy lace agate is a banded chalcedony (microcrystalline quartz) with iron and aluminum. This produces browns, blacks, greys and golds (and occasional pinks or reds) swirled within the stone. The deep reds and complex patterns were what drew me to this one. It's found exclusively within the area known as Chihuahua, in Northern Mexico and is relatively new as far as minerals go. It's believed to have been created in the cretaceous period. That means it's about 65-90 million years ago.
